At The Vines Resort, we believe that every small step contributes to a more sustainable future. Across our resort, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact through practical initiatives that minimise waste, conserve resources and encourage responsible practices among our team and guests.

Our kitchens play an important role in this commitment through a comprehensive food waste monitoring program. By tracking and measuring food waste, our team can identify opportunities to reduce excess, improve efficiency and make more sustainable purchasing decisions. During breakfast service, guests will also notice signage throughout the buffet encouraging them to take only what they need, helping to reduce unnecessary food waste while still enjoying our extensive selection.

Recycling is embedded throughout the resort, with dedicated programs for glass bottles, wine bottles, aluminium cans and other recyclable materials. Our hotel rooms are also equipped with two-bin waste systems, making it easy for guests to separate general waste from recyclables and support our sustainability efforts during their stay. Behind the scenes, our team uses a cardboard crusher to compact cardboard before it is collected for recycling, reducing waste volume and improving recycling efficiency.

We are proud to nurture our own gardens on the property. Our chefs have access to a thriving herb garden and citrus trees, allowing fresh, seasonal produce to be harvested just moments before it reaches the plate. Our gardening team also maintains an on-site nursery, where plant cuttings and offshoots are propagated and replanted throughout the grounds, reducing the need to purchase new plants while preserving the beauty of the resort. Our horticultural team produces its own compost using green waste generated around the property. This natural compost enriches our soils, supports healthy plant growth and helps close the loop by returning valuable nutrients back into the landscape.

Our guests are also invited to be part of our sustainability journey through our Go Green Program. By choosing to forgo daily housekeeping services during their stay, guests help reduce water and energy consumption associated with laundering towels and bed linen, while also decreasing the use of cleaning products. Together, these simple choices make a meaningful difference.
